New record out today: Night Owl Envies the Mourning Dove
Vinyl and CDs available today. Two new songs streaming now.
I’m beyond thrilled to introduce my new album, Night Owl Envies the Mourning Dove. Recorded live over four blissful days at Sam Kassirer’s studio in rural Maine with a band of brothers; Rich Hinman (guitars), Jeremy Moses Curtis (bass), Ray Rizzo (drums), Matt Lorenz (vocals) and Sam Kassirer (keys). I could not be happier with the record we made.
I’m releasing the album today on vinyl and CD, and orders will ship immediately.
Two new songs, “Hotter Than Hell” and “Strangers / Lovers” are available to stream wherever you’d like to listen. The full album will not be available digitally until October, but for those who can’t wait (and still like to pay for music), the LP and the CD are available now on Bandcamp.
This is not a preorder. The records and CDs are in boxes here in my home and will ship immediately to you. I like the idea of folks having their first listen to this record in a real way, front to back, as if the sequence we suffered over matters!
I’m sparing you all (and myself) a kickstarter, gofundme or bake sale campaign. This is a fully independent record, released by yours truly, without a label. At this stage, I think my fans are aware of how the independent music dream stays afloat - through the direct purchase of music from the artist or buying tickets to a show. Thank you for showing up these many years to support my music!
To launch this record, I’ve put together new bundles and box sets, along with some limited test pressings, and Bandcamp offers you the chance to name your own price above what’s listed. I see each and every order come in and the kind notes included with many of them. My mom and I pack up and ship them out to you via our tiny post office, from Vermont with love.
I’d love to see what this record looks like on your turntable (or CD player). Here’s mine. Stay tuned for some live video sessions and tour dates coming together for the fall, starting in the Midwest.

Love these two tracks Caitlin! Streaming is such a blessing and a curse for the artist. Your stream numbers are already up to a decent place on the Spotify, so you may be making a few pennies there. Cheers, Paul (Paulcito)
